My Bio:
I am a classically trained tenor based in Minneapolis, MN. I have been singing all my life but really became serious at the age of sixteen when I attended the Interlochen Center for the Arts during my last two years of high school (2014). Following high school, I attended Oberlin College and Conservatory where I received my B.M. in Vocal Performance (2018). While at Oberlin, I performed in recitals and operas and began studying the science of vocal pedagogy. After my undergraduate studies, I received my M.M. with Distinction in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from Westminster Choir College (2020). While pursuing my studies, I began teaching secondary voice lessons and tutoring undergraduate students in Music Theory while continuing to perform.
I have been teaching singing and public speaking for a number of years now and have become a passionate teacher of all vocal genres/styles! I have taught Musical Theater, Classical, Pop, Jazz, and Metal style singing in lessons to great success. I have experience working with voice users of all ages (9-68 to be exact) and all experience levels! My younger singers have been cast in recitals, school musicals, and summer programs such as the Interlochen Arts Academy, and my professional singers have released songs, performed one-woman shows, and been cast in local theater productions.
In the studio, my teaching philosophy is to establish healthy vocal habits in singers/speakers of any age and to instill a love of music & creativity in the next generation of voice users. My pedagogy stems from both historical vocal tradition and contemporary voice science, so students receive a holistic approach to vocal technique.
Hope to see you in a lesson soon!
